At the Princess Theatre CAMP stands for Creative Arts Musical Perfiormance. In our Summer Theatre CAMPs students will learn basic concepts of theatre performance and production. We focus on ensemble, full mind/body control,  the voice and diction as well as building soft skills like spatial awareness, delayed gratification and more. Students will be introduced to almost all aspects of theatre and performance production from acting to dance and even technical theatre. Throughout the two-week camp students will participate in the production rehearsals and preparations such as Set Design, Light Design, Costume Design, Makeup Design and application, and Prop management. These camps are designed to give students exposure to and a foundation in the various aspects of theatre/technical theatre and performance. Students will rotate in morning sessions from Choreography, to Music, and to Acting.  After lunch, students come together for a full rehearsal putting it all together. The last hour is about design, and what goes into putting a show together.  

Cinderella: A Musical Play

Kids Theatre CAMP  (Grades 1 – 5)

CAMP Dates: June 17 - June 28 2018                                    

Performance Dates & Times:   Friday 6/28 @ 7pm  &  Saturday 6/29 @ 7pm                                                                                                             

Program Times: 8:30am – 3:30pm. Drop off at 8:30am pick up at 3:30pm. Early drop off 8am late pick up 5pm ($50 per week)

Program Cost: $400 

Program Details: Students must bring their own lunch and snack. (NO TREE NUTS OR TREE NUT PRODUCTS ARE ALLOWED)

What better way to introduce your studetn to theatre than with Cinderella? This two week CAMP is perfect for theatrical beginners, as well as those returning to the stage. With singing, dancing, acting, and other classes designed to engage your child, theyll be saying "Bibbity-bobbity-sign me up!".


"Step into the Spotlight" Teen CAMP

Teen Theatre CAMP (Grades 6 – 12)

CAMP Dates & Times: July 15 to July 19     9am-3pm

Performance Times:  Friday 7/19 @ 3pm 

Cost- $175 per student for the 1 week session (SCHOLARSHIPS AND DISCOUNTS AVAILABLE).

Program Details: Students must bring their own lunch and snack. (NO TREE NUT OR TREE NUT PRODUCTS ARE ALLOWED) 

Have your children ever wanted to sing, dance, or act on the stage? Then this is the CAMP for them! For two weeks, students will learn the foundations of musical theatre and acting with oppertunities to apply what they learn in a musical showcase full of songs, dances, monologues, and scenes.


Early Bird - Complete registration and payment by March 31 and recieve $50 off your total registration.

Referrals – receive $5 off for every referral you send that completes registration and payment process.

Siblings – If you enroll more than one child for any camp or lab receive 10% off each student’s tuition.

Professional Development & Adult Workshop

Program Info: 

Join us for a workshop taught by guest artist Jonathan Pope Evans. This workshop will focus on voice work and how it connects to the body. This workshop will include techniques influenced by Alexander Technique, Linklater technique, and many many more.


Jonathan Pope Evans began performing as a teen in productions at the Princess Theatre before gaining his BFA in Acting and later singing and dancing in professional theatre and national tours, most notably in national tours of Will Roger’s Follies and Crazy For You. He also performed standup and improvisational comedy in Chicago, Illinois at Second City Improvisational Theater.  Then, at age 24, he decided to make his way across the country to Hollywood, California, earning MFA degrees in both Theatre and Film Directing at California Institute of the Arts. He then worked as director's assistant to acclaimed theatre director Nina Menkes, and began directing theatre, commercials, indie films, and television promos. His original play, And David Danced, won the Jean Kennedy Smith Playwriting Award and was shown at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington DC.  His screenplay for the indie film Transformation Awaits! won international screenwriting awards as well as being a finalist in the Motion Picture Academy's Nicholl Fellowship.  He has trained with acclaimed theatre companies such as SITI Company, Teatr ZAR, and Teatr Piesn Kozla.  Two years ago, his short film Sepulte “The Buried” won Best International Short Film at the Berlin International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival and screened at over 40 international film festivals.  His most recent short “Hoover Road” opened at the Rhode Island International Film Festival (an Oscar qualifying festival).  Evans’ films have shown at Cannes Film Festival, Nashville Film Festival, Palm Springs ShortsFest, Brazil’s Curta Cinema Festival 2012, New Orleans Film Festival, Sidewalk Film Festival, Prague Shorts International Film Festival, and other film festivals across the world.   Evans recently completed a new short film projects, two devised theatre projects, and gained a certificate in The Grotowski Technique and Physical Acting from Teatr Piesn Kozla in Wroclaw, Poland and currently teaches acting at Los Angeles Southwest College.
